A robin had been waking me up at 3:30 AM much to my annoyance and thrill. At first, I thought it was a distress call, however, it seemed more regular. Today I clocked this event and it lasted 2 hours exactly.
Waking up at this hour felt strangely refreshing. The road outside my window looked empty, still and untouched. It reminded me of childhood when mum would wake me up at 4:00 AM everyday and I’d resist, groan and snuggle deeper into my blanket. I messaged her and she was amused that she had company. She said it was an hour of spiritual awakening or things to come and asked me to practise early rising regularly. My friend said that I lived in pure luxury and luck and sighed that city life had driven all the birds away.
I had experienced complete sleep and spent some time reflecting and writing at this hour. I’m not sure if I can keep this up, but it felt good waking up with the birds.
